Michael has been an international director and cinematographer for over four decades, involved in a wide spectrum of film projects. He has lensed a mesmerizing blend of live action, and seductive product shots for a diverse clientele.
With an eye for striking visual composition, award-winning director/cinematographer Michael Underwood has built his reputation upon a unique artistry and aesthetic sense that reflects his eclectic background and expertise in a variety of media. Diverse in concept and content, the wide range of styles that makes up his body of work all bear one defining hallmark: the ability of Michael to uncover a fresh, timeless, creative vision for each new project he turns his attention to.
Armed with his rich motion picture background and trained cinematographer’s eye Michael entered the world of fine art photography. Richly nuanced, complex, and profound, his highly conceptual archival pigment prints, created in his studios in the US and Europe, transcend the bounds of expectation, simultaneously perplexing and pleasing viewers eager for the freshness of new wonders.
