ARDEN'S GARDEN
In the waning days of a stubborn summer heatwave, we gathered together in our petite backyard garden to begin shooting a film with our 7-year-old granddaughter Arden as the main character. The short film titled Arden’s Garden was inspired by musician John Milham, a neighbor whose’s new jazz album of the same name had just been released on iTunes.
Arden’s Garden is a tale of hope, discovery, a belief in tomorrow, and applying the art of the possibility – the key of which lies within a curious discarded chest. Restrained under lock and key within the dark confines of the curious chest rests a well-worn Gardener’s Notebook.

Originally known as the “Prairie House” - it was fitting for a family who moved to Laurel from the prairies of Iowa. The mixture of the beautiful residential areas with the abundance of trees, churches, and commercial areas also makes Laurel the best example of the City Beautiful movement in the state.
TETHERED TO THE EARTH

DIGGING OUR WAY OUT
Digging Our Way Out is a visionary tale, a tale of creative coping. In a woeful moment in March, our world constricted. Adamantly altered. Dissimilar to what was…
The seeds of a slow isolation regime were sown. We began rooting around for ways to grapple with our plight and overcome our dismay. We kept digging. By and by, inchmeal, we unearthed the path forward. Together and with a stubborn hope, we photographed and shared our moments in time as we navigated our new reality. This is our story…
